Famous computer errors
Both computers and the programs that run on them are made by human … so it only logical that some of them weren’t perfect, and that’s how the bugs or computer errors appeared.
Many of the computer errors alert you using a message on the screen. A picture can be used to. But somebody decided to use sound instead. This is how they work: the BIOS emit to a speaker three beeps (the first is short and the other two are longer) every time a error had appeared with the graphic system. Just one beep shows you that everything is fine, and works well. Instead, by error, if the cache memory has a problem, the PC will emit 11 sounds to let you know about the problem.
These days, everybody uses Twitter. If you don’t have already an account, at least you have heard about it. You can say Twitter is famous, and that’s why I think that the same famous is the error picture it displays were the system is busy. Everytime Twitter is under maintenance because it is too much traffic on it, a picture of a blue wale and some red birds appear. It is so famous, that it appears now even on T-shirts and other objects.
There is another computer, or better said software error that produced a tragedy. The National Cancer Institute from Panama used to have special software on their computers that will help to establish the correct dosage of radiation that every patient needed. Because of an error, some of the patients have received the twice of the necessary radiation. Almost ten people died because of that and many other had some health problems.
HTTP 404 is one of the most famous errors, and any user that is connected to the internet has seen it (mostly when they really needed to read something online). This “not found” error indicates that the server wasn’t able to find what you have asked him to find (the selected internet address). This error indicates also that the server exists, or existed at a certain time, but it was deleted or moved somewhere else.
The last computer error presented is famous because it is funny. The message of the error is telling you: “No keyboard detected. Press F1 to resume”. It is true that it is not like the other error messages where you get stuck because you don’t know what you are supposed to do next. This error is telling you what to do, but you simply can’t.
